Welcome to my website

There are times in life when we need additional help to overcome or deal with problems that we face. Sometimes talking to our friends and family can seem too difficult or not enough. Talking through emotional turmoil, life experiences or life changes can help you gain clarity and a better understanding of yourself.

What would it be like to talk to someone who will listen without judging you?

I believe we all have, in ourselves, the ability to work through our own problems; sometimes we just need the space, time and support to do it. Therapy offers a safe holding space for you to face life's challenges. In the safety of the therapeutic space you can explore the external situations you are dealing with, your internal responses and discover more effective strategies to regain a sense of control and balance in your life.

Counselling can help you or someone that you care about find what you are looking for. It can help us to understand that we have choices and help us to make the right choices.

With the right counsellor you can find guidance to work through difficult issues you may be facing, overcome challenging obstacles, and move on to a more fulfilling, happier life.

At Annette Piper Therapy you will find a counsellor who is professionally trained and qualified, not only to listen to your problems, but to facilitate the changes needed to improve whatever situation you present with. I follow the BACP’s Ethical Framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy and my clients come to me with a wide range of issues including:

  • Relationship, child and family issues
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Termination / Miscarriage / Infertility
  • Anger, aggression or other strong feelings
  • Obsessions, compulsions and control issues
  • Anxiety / Depression
  • Stress / Trauma
  • Low self esteem / Lack of confidence
  • Physical, Sexual and Emotional abuse (including bullying and domestic violence)
  • Work stresses
  • Sex and sexuality
  • Spirituality
Some clients have a clear understanding of what's wrong, others simply feel that "something isn't right". Some bring long-standing issues whereas others come with more recent problems. No matter what your situation, counselling may help. Why not give me a ring to discuss your specific needs? Ultimately counselling should lead to a better understanding of ourselves which can lead to a fuller and more satisfying experience of life.
